“A baby nursing at a mother’s breast is an undeniable affirmation of our rootedness in nature.”

-David Suzuki

Hatchling: Feeding Foundations

I’ve both read and heard on repeat that breastfeeding is natural.  While that is true in some aspects, that doesn’t mean that  it is easy. Instinctual? Most of the time. Natural and easy? Not always.

Setting out to do the best for their babies from the moment they are born, many parents decide that breastfeeding is the only option for them.  And to those who decide otherwise, I nod to you in love for finding what works best for you and your family too and offer my greatest support your way as well. The information out there when it comes to breast, chest and bottle feeding can be overwhelming, to say the least! In preparation for babies arrival, we read, survey friends and buy every last breastfeeding gadget there is. But in all of this, do we really gain an accurate perception of how it might be before our little one is actually placed to the breast for the very first time? Are we holding a firm grasp on the mechanics of this miraculous milk making ability?

As a Registered Nurse, Mother and Friend, I can tell you that there is a way to start this feeding journey that can lessen feelings of overwhelm and angst and build you up to begin with confidence.

It starts with a solid foundation.

I’d love to lay the groundwork with you as we explore the many aspects of breastfeeding and how to format an empowered and individualized approach.  Whether you are pregnant currently, a new parent or in your postpartum chapter, there is a place for you and I welcome you to learn more about preparing, establishing and navigating this together.

offerings

Not everyone is up for a group setting. And that is okay!

If one-on-one instruction is what you are seeking, there is an individualized option for that. I travel to you, in the comfort of your own home, and we learn at your pace. While all aspects of my course will be offered, we meet in person or make contact before your course begins, so that I can make adjustments based on your specific needs and goals. The total class time for this option is 2 hours

Small group sessions are a wonderful way to walk in this journey, alongside others who are also expecting, learning, and growing. Not to mention, you're experiencing this major life moment with others who are too. That's huge! Bonds and friendships formed through a judgement-free and supportive learning environment happen in nearly every class. And it's a beautiful thing.

Understanding that the scheduling needs of each family varies greatly, I designed my teachings to accommodate yours. Tap the + sign below to learn more about each group option that is currently being offered.
